Job Summary:

We are currently seeking passionate and qualified VDC Co-ops to join the Messer family. This position supports Messer project teams both internal and external throughout the life cycle of a project from business development tasks through construction and into turnover. Primary day-to-day responsibilities include assisting the VDC Managers and Engineers throughout all phases of a project.

Responsibilities are as follows:

These responsibilities will vary from project to project but generally would include some or all of the following:

  • Experience working in some or all of the following platforms:
    • SketchUp
    • Revit
    • Lumion
    • Tekla
    • Navisworks
    • Recap
    • Synchro Pro
    • ArchiCAD
    • Microstation
    • Rhino
    • 3DS Max
    • Adobe CS
    • AutoCAD
    • Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Working with project teams, business development, estimating, safety, and building systems group departments to develop:
    • Site and building layouts
    • 3D site logistics plans
    • Building models and 3D mock-ups
    • 3D prints
    • Safe plans of work
    • 4D schedules
    • Laser scan / point cloud integration
    • Augmented / Virtual Reality models and visualizations
  • Document control
  • Quality control
  • Research and Development

Minimum Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural related program with a focus on construction processes/industry/delivery methods/building information modeling/virtual design and construction
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees
  • Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Must have experience with 3d modeling software

Abilities:

  • Possess all auditory, speaking and communicating capabilities
  • Physical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 25lbs., seeing and reading
