Messer is seeking a Real Estate Portfolio Manager to manage the day-to-day business affairs of Messer’s real estate portfolio.

The Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day business affairs of Messer’s real estate portfolio with an intentional focus on protecting and maximizing the value of Messer’s real estate assets. This individual reports to the Real Estate Manager and works collaboratively with developers, investors, lenders, property managers, brokers, tenants and other business partners required to operate the properties and investments within the portfolio.

Responsibilities: The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Implement policies and procedures that provide management and oversight of the company’s real estate investments
  • Measure and benchmark financial performance of real estate portfolio
  • Prepare property and portfolio dashboards
  • Monitor loan compliance
  • Monitor general partner and developer compliance with terms and conditions of operating and development agreements
  • Oversee the budgeting and forecasting process for each property
  • Ensure construction, operating, and capital improvement budgets are adhered to
  • Ensure maintenance of properties is effectively managed
  • Monitor monthly & quarterly reports prepared by third party or affiliated service providers; evaluate and report on actual asset performance compared to budget, forecasts, investment targets, and benchmarks
  • Prepare for and attend owner meetings and communicate significant issues to management
  • Be apprised of real estate market conditions
  • Assist team with property valuations for investment committee approval
  • Assist in due diligence for real estate investment opportunities
  • Work with Messer Financial Services team to deliver best in class management of the overall portfolio 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate or related field preferred 


  • Possess all auditory, speaking and communicating capabilities
  • Physical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 25lbs., seeing and reading
